Wellness Wednesday: Let’s Talk Joints

images

Happy Hump Day Everyone! With all this exercise talk that I do, it is important that we not neglect care for our bodies either. I can’t stress how much you can benefit from just listening to your body. The signs and symptoms of sickness, tiredness, or fatigue can creep up on you or be staring you right in the face. Our joints play a significant role in our movement, so here are some foods that will keep your joints in step with all that exercise you and I do.

According to Dr. Theodosakis, M.D. and author of The Arthritis Cure, certain foods can actually help ease and promote joint comfort. Antioxidant filled foods such as grapefruit, papaya, orange, mangos, red peppers and broccoli are full of vitamin C that help keep your joints in movement. Also try Vitamin E filled foods such as avocados, whole-grain bread, and peanut butter.

Foods filled with fatty acids also help. Try cold water fatty fish such as salmon or herring. They are rich in Omega 3’s that reduce swelling and discomfort in joints.

So get out there and move, but don’t forget your joint healthy snacks! Happy Wellness Wednesday!
