Thoughtful Thursday: Do You Have Healthy Habits?

Happy Thursday Everyone! I do apologize for the absence of Wellness Wednesday this week. I had to take care of some things at home, but we are back on today! My question to you is… Do you have healthy habits? Day to day and week to week we go on with our daily routine. Hop in the car, drive to work, enter the building, and sit down at our desk. Have you really considered the alternative routes you might take. These little changes can add up to a complete lifestyle change.

1. You don’t always have to park in the front.parking lot

Take the opportunity to walk a little further than you dare to. I know we all want the closest park spot to the building, but consider parking a little further and getting your walk on!

2. Climb those stairs.

You know where I am going with this one… Before you reach out you hand to press that up button on the elevator think about taking the stairs instead. You’ll burn more calories, strengthen your legs, and you heart will thank you in the end. So take the stairs instead. Unless you work on 56th floor or something, then you can take the elevator. I’ll forgive you. 🙂

3. Stand a little longer.desk

Instead of coming to your desk and plopping straight into work. Get organized and prepared for the day standing up. Move your chair away from the desk, turn on your computer, put your things away, etc. all while standing. Hey you can even stretch a little to prepare for the day ahead.

Like I said, the little changes may add up to a total lifestyle change. So walk more, climb more, and stand more for a better healthier you. Adopt these healthy habits into your routine.
