Wellness Wednesday: Who’s Got The Juice?

…And no I don’t mean steroids! It seems that more an more Americans are using juicing as a means of losing weight. Juicing takes all the hassle out of preparing food, and it doesn’t come with as many calories. When food is blended into liquid form it absorbs into your blood stream quicker because the food is already broken down. It is also a great way to consume your recommended servings of fruits and vegetables for the day.

Although juicing is a great way to slim down quick it is important to know that nothing can replace the actual chewing and going through the bread down of actual food. It allows our digestive system to function at its proper rate. People that have done a liquid diet tend to have difficulties returning back to solid food if it is not done gradually. Remember the best way to lose weight is to always eat a balanced diet and exercise 3-5 times a week. Don’t replace all your meals with juicing. I suggest a juice for breakfast mixed with lots of fruits, veggies, and maybe even some protein, a healthy lunch, and a well balanced dinner. All in all find out what works for you and stick to it.
