Tackle Your Tuesday: National African American Womens Fitness Month

Happy Tuesday Everyone! April is National African American Womens Fitness Month, and in honor of all those women that “keep it moving” out there I want to say congrats and keep it up! Being a African American woman myself I know things like heart disease, hypertension, and breast cancer are quite prevalent in our community. Therefore I have chosen to put health and fitness at the forefront of my life. I don’t want to be another statistic. I want to help change the world and spread health, fitness, and wellness across the world!

Founded by Sheila Madison, this national event is designed to encourage health awareness through physical activity for African American women. We can certainly do it ladies! Let’s keep moving! For more information about National African American Womens Fitness Month go to sheilamadison.com and learn about it’s founder and her tips for living a healthier lifestyle.

I've been living an active lifestyle since the age of 4. Having been a track and field athlete for most of my life, it was only right that I study kinesiology in college. I have held positions as a personal trainer (private and gym), bootcamp instructor, and track and field coach. Now as a Health Educator for Riverside County I want to use this gift God has given me of health and fitness to inspire the world! Live. Love. Well & Fit.
