Fit Fridays: Exercising With Your Spouse


I am please to say that I met my husband in an “active” setting. We ran track and field together. We actually started out as rivals! My high school (Etiwanda) against his high school (Rancho Cucamonga). After high school we ran on the same team at Mt. Sac and the rest is history. I love how we can exercise together. I motivate him and he motivates me. Living an active lifestyle is just part of who we are. From my experience exercising with your spouse can bring a deeper connection in your relationship. You can see each others highs and lows, and who better to have as a workout partner than your significant other?

Remember the activities in which you do together don’t have to be complicated, and they don’t have to require a lot of money. You can go for a walk or a bike ride. Try hiking or playing a sport in a one-on-one setting. If you are like my husband and I, you will find yourself in a friendly competition and the attraction you have for one another will only enhance your relationship. If you and you spouse are not in sync right now, I dare you to try! Exercise with each other, and see what a difference it will make in your love life!
