Wellness Wednesday : Morning Surrender

image

Happy Monday everyone! I know it’s the end of the day but I can’t help but think of my breakfast in the morning (I guess that’s where my daughter gets it from).

It is very common for us to grab a coffee, latte, or a quick donut. These unhealthy choices are actually hindering our day, so I thought I would share with you a few of my favorite healthy breakfast choices.

McDonalds small blueberry and pomegranate smoothie. Instead of grabbing that Frappuccino or coffee try this instead. This sweet smoothie fills you up and is only 230 calories.

Starbucks multigrain bagel. I know… how can you go into Starbucks and not indulge in one of their fine drinks you ask?  Simple just don’t order one! I go in get my bagel and a venti water and keep moving. The whole grains from this bagel will keep you satisfied and energized through your morning.

… And last but not least  switch that sugary bowl  of cereal for an acai bowl from Juice It Up. Now this one is my absolute favorite. not only is the smoothie great but it is loaded with delicious granola, banana  slices, and a drizzle of honey. After this bowl I am satisfy and ready to tackle my day.

So try one of my favorites this week, and whatever you choose make sure it is going to help keep you Well & Fit!

Tackle Your Tuesday: My Favorite Recovery Trick

image

Happy Tuesday Everyone!  Sometimes after I’ve had a good workout and done my cool down I can still can feel a little tension in my muscles. One of my favorite recovery tips is to stretch in the shower. If you can’t get to the gym to utilize a sauna, then this is a great way to do it on your own. Turn up the temperature a little more than normal (keeping the door cracked) and begin to stretch. Touch your toes, stretch your arms, roll you head around, etc. Hold each stretch for 5-7 seconds. Be careful though to have good footing because it can be a little slippery. The heat will increase circulation and flexibility in your muscles. The stretching will also make way for a speedy recovery in between workouts. Try it this week and see how it works for you!  As an extra bonus it also relaxes you before bedtime.

…. and on that note good night world. Lol!

Motivational Monday: Don’t Go Back

image

Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone is having a blessed Monday thus far. As the day comes to end, I would like to leave you with some encouragement…

Never go back.

I have learned so much on this journey God has placed me on. I am trying to live better and be better. It is not always easy to be a wife, mother,  wellness coach, friend, business women,  etc,  but with faith I get through it. I refuse to let fear run me and make me go back to the person I once was. I have taken the time to listen to God and this is my purpose. My dreams are becoming more real each day because of a seed He placed in me.

I never want you to go back. Reach for it! Go for it!  Don’t settle for average or ordinary.  Be extraordinary!

Fit For Thought:
Exercise your day to day. Live in Faith, and the results will come.

Tackle Your Tuesday: Enjoy It!

image

Happy Tuesday Everyone! I had a great workout tonight with some wonderful ladies! Even though it hurt they pushed through.  I find sometimes the best way to tackle a workout is to learn to enjoy it. This concept works for anything in life. Learn to enjoy the moment you are in. It’s like when I eat. I have been known to be a slow eater, but I just like savoring every bite. We get so busy from day to day that many  of us adults don’t know how to cherish those little moments.   trust me they count.

Go find your joy!

Motivational Monday: Memories

image

image

Happy Monday Everyone!  I was blessed to be able to attend my family reunion this weekend. Needless to say the weeks leading up to it were filled with a fair share of drama, but the memories we created were simply amazing. One thing I can say about my family is that we stand together. I have a great support system (especially from my immediate family). We have a saying, “If I have it, you have it.” No one is in shortage. No one is lacking.  The love and care for each other gets us through. It can be tough to reach your dreams without support, and it doesn’t just have to be “blood relatives” to be called family. Whoever is there for you through the ups and downs is what speaks to me. So I’d like to take the time to thank my family for pushing me and believing in me so that I can one day reach my goals. Thank you for motivating me. We made great memories this weekend!

Thoughtful Thursday

image

Happy Thursday Everyone! Are you frustrated with something going on in your life right now? It’s no mystery the best way to get rid of your troubles is to go exercise. I personally enjoy writing or even better running when I’m frustrated, but as of lately I’ve been really getting into hiking. Whatever works for you find a constructive way to get rid of your headache. I plan on doing just that this evening! Now let’s do it!

Motivational Monday: It’s Possible!

All-Things-Are-Possible-With-God

“Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” -Mark 10:27

Happy Monday Everyone! Yesterday I was blessed by my pastor with a message simply titled “It’s Possible”. Yes with God everything is possible. I just want to encourage you today to see yourself through God’s eyes. Whatever it is that you are striving for it can be done. The only person holding you back is you. Don’t let fear be the reason you never tried. I know I can talk about motivation a lot, but I feel that we all constantly need it. It is heartwarming to know you have someone in your corner cheering you on to be a better you. So let’s go and strive to be the person God intended you to be. IT IS POSSIBLE!
