Kid’s Fitness

Last week we began talking about children’s health and fitness, and we are going to continue this week because I was super busy preparing for my workshop last Saturday.

…so let’s throw it back to when I had the honor of exercising with these cuties at my daughters school. The key to children’s fitness is just to keep it fun. We played balloon volleyball and had a veggie pass relay. Every activity was fun and kept their interest! Start them young and hopefully they’ll continue for a lifetime! πŸŒΏπŸ’–πŸ’ͺ🏽

Fit For Thought

They say laughter is the best medicine for a reason!… and they also say that misery loves company. I am so avid on not feeding into the misery. Learn to have fun

Sometimes the best time you can have is reliving an old memory. Can you believe that? I wanted to be a dentist!… Me!… and of course I wanted to run in the Olympics. I will always be a track girl at heart. This not only was fun to reflect, but it also made me smile. What did you want to do when you were a kid?…and what are you doing now? Does it make you happy? Are you having fun living your present life? πŸŒΏπŸ’–πŸ’ͺ🏽

Fit For Thought

You are uniquely you, and that includes the calories you burn. Don’t be fooled by being generalized. There are different requirements for everyone. I was reading an article on msn.com health and fitness about how the treadmill at them gym is lying to you. It stated that the machines can overestimate how many calories you burn by 40%. That is a substantial percentage.

I have always tried to tell people that you may have to do more or less exercise depending on your height, weight, geneder, body type, and workout intensity. Every calorie that we burn is really customized to everything about our body makeup. So just as a word of advice, the next time you are in the gym, and think you are burning what the treadmill tells you, think again. Also remember you can’t out exercise a bad diet. Change will occur when you change you eating lifestyle along with exercise. That is the best way. I hope you all had a great Tuesday, and be well you guys!

Fit For Thought: 5 Days To Encourage Others

Sometimes it can be so hard to motivate yourself let alone others, but this week let’s be each other’s support system. Pick one (or more) person per day to lift up and encourage them to continue their goals. You’ll find that it is very contagious, and while you are doing it you will stay motivated yourself. Good vibes are always reciprocated!
