Aiming Too Low

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a productive Monday. The beginning of a new week gives me motivation for new opportunities.  I love the quote I posted above by Les Brown. I believe it shows a true statement about how most people live their lives. It speaks to our comfort zone. It is the place where we feel most content. A place where we aren’t doing bad, but we still aren’t living to our full potential. I have had this idea in my head for a while that I want to be a “motivational mover”. You may ask what this is? I believe in being a person that not only speaks to motivate you, but to also help you move to motivate you. Movement is very powerful. In movement you will find the true spirit of a man. Not just sitting and listening, but participating in your own dreams to make them come true. I don’t want to be the majority. I don’t want to aim low. I don’t want to be “comfortable”, and neither should you! I challenge you this week to do something that will move you to aim hire, be better, and live well. You can do it. Fear is your greatest opponent.  Don’t let it stop you!

Be well everyone, and good night! Let’s go be uncomfortable tomorrow!

Thankful For The Journey

As I road home tonight I was amazed by God’s work in nature. I could see the sliver linings made by the left over snow on the mountains. I gazed at the lights twinkling in the city below, and being so close to the top of the mountains I could see the stars and all their brilliance. As I continued to drive, in peace (because the kiddos were sleep in the back), I couldn’t help but be thankful for the journey. This journey we call life. That moment blessed me beyond measure. Thinking of all I’ve been through, and how I came out in victory. Also being thankful for where I am at, but knowing that I am capable of so much more. The blessing was in that moment. Finding time to just “be”.

Too many times we are bogged down by everything else in life that we don’t stop to look at all the God given beauty around us. It is gorgeous, and although it is the end of the day, that alone gave me motivation to move into the next day. To grow stronger physically and mentally and continually seek out my dreams. I hope you can do the same. Become the best version of yourself. Not taking anything for granted, and truly realizing that the small things matter.

Be well everyone.

Motivational Monday :Trust the Process of You

Not much to say tonight, but no matter what you’re going through or challenges you face, trust the process your going through. There will be obstacles on your way to success. It may hurt like no other, but pain brings change and change brings a new horizon to a new day. A new season… especially for me…

Motivational Monday: Finding Your Purpose

Hi everyone, and Happy Monday! So… Today was my first day back to work. Although I am excited to continue my work as a Health Educator, I had to leave my baby boy at home. Going back to work after being on maternity leave for so long is hard to do. I am definitely missing my baby, but life must go on! Being back at work is motivation in itself. It helps me to get closer to my overall dream with Well & Fit Coaching. It is one step added to my overall wellness.

Believe it or not the above questions have a substantial effect on your health. According to the book that I’m finishing up, Simple Health, your sense of meaning in life significantly impacts the degree to which you will be able to experience optimal health or wellness. I don’t know about you, but I feel a much better when I am doing what I love. When I am living out my purpose. The motivation comes from within, and leaves me feeling fulfilled. As I read on I learned finding your purpose helps boost your confidence which causes less stress which leads to a better physical life. Can you believe, your body and mind will thank you for living out your dreams! We all have a sense of what we want to do in our short time on this earth. In time I believe that most of us will find that purpose, but it is up to you to act on that purpose. This week begin to imagine how you can live out that thing that gives you meaning in this life. I hope it drives you to take the next step towards your dreams. Be well everyone.

Motivational Monday: Diligence During the Rain

Good evening everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and an even better Monday. This weekend I had my fair share of challenges and let downs, but nevertheless I’m am still here standing. It’s a rainy evening here in Southern California, and I just couldn’t help but use it as inspiration. Have you ever noticed how beautiful the day is after the rain has passed? The skies are always clear and the air is crisp. Rain wipes away the mess and dirt.

I have always loved this, and it is perfect for the way I’m feeling. Through all the rain or challenges of life, there will always be the next day. It’s there to clear all the mess, and to start a new. No matter what journey you are on right now, fitness, battling at work, or in a trying relationship, stay forever diligent in your rain. Your crisp skies are coming. Let the trials wipe away the mess and dirt. Be well guys, and happy Monday!

Motivational Monday: Unsatisfied to Push

Hello everyone, and happy Monday. New week, new day, new goals! At my job we are required to carve out some time in our schedules to attend health disparity modules. They are designed to make us more aware of culture, race, and the unfair truths that we live with in our communities we serve. The topics have a way of making you feel uncomfortable, and hopefully inflict change within yourself. Have you ever been in a situation like that? Feeling so uncomfortable or unsatisfied with your circumstances that you were compelled to change? It has been happening to me more than often as of lately, but it is not a bad thing. Don’t get me wrong, I am blessed to have all of the wonderful people and things in my life, but I know God is pushing me to something more. I keep going because I want more. Primarily for my family, but for all those I come in contact with as well.

As an adult, I have seen too many people suffer from health problems. I want to help change their lives by moving them into the right direction, and now that I have somewhat of a momentum, I don’t want to stop. It is almost like I can’t stop. I know my goals in life are greater than me. The unconfident me says, “Don’t do it because it will be too hard”, but I do my best to block that out and focus on what is in front of me. The opportunity to help save lives, and prevent the sickness before it even happens. I want to be the best for my husband and children (my #1 motivations), and I would rather fail trying than not to try at all.

Is there something holding you back, or making you so uncomfortable that you are feeling a need to change? Well rest assure you are not alone. The struggle is only part of the journey. If you can hold on and stay strong to the end, the reward at the end of the journey will be phenomenal! Don’t give up! Push forward and out of that comfort zone. We were not made to be average, and I won’t settle for anything less than great. Now there’s some motivation for you!

Motivational Monday: Fears to Dreams

Hello everyone, and happy Monday. Last night I had the pleasure of going to a good friends, Monti Washington’s, book signing. I was intrigued and motivated by his message. His book is call From the Streets to the Stage: 20 ways to make it from the streets of your fears to the stage of your dreams. The book intertwines the struggle of his past life, and what helped propel him to where he is at today. His goal is to use his book to help 1000 people in 30 days.

As I listened to his story I began to wonder about my own path that I am on. How each day I have set goals to make my dreams come true. Everything that I have been through has prepared me to be a better wife, mother, and business woman. I have a vision for my “Well & Fit ” dream. I want to touch the world through health and fitness. If I can help prevent someone from going through sickness or disease and help them live a healthier life, then I have accomplished my goal that God has placed me on this earth for.

So I want to encourage you today. Whatever dream or goal you have, go for it. Change starts within yourself. Stay motivated. Stay hungry. Stay humble.

My First Trimester: Not So Well & Fit…

Happy Monday Everyone! I know I have been away for a while, and I have to confess I haven’t been as Well & Fit as I could be. My first trimester was filled with so many ups and downs. When I think about it, I was a bit of a mess. I was constantly sick with nausea. I could barely hold any food down, followed by tiredness, and I cried at almost everything. Now that I am in my second trimester, I am looking forward to having some of my energy back, and hopefully I’ll be able to eat more of the foods I normally like. I plan to slowly ease my way back to exercising more, so my labor and delivery will go smoothly. I guess if I could say anything about this time in my life, it would be not to give up. This particular pregnancy has been totally different than with my girls, but I am determined to make it better. Stay tuned for more…

Motivational Monday: Kindness, Encouragement, and More

Being an owner of a health and fitness company can be quite taxing sometimes. No matter what you do people expect you to be a certain way. Yes, I love training and salads, but it is so much more than that. The best feeling is some letting me know that the session or workout that they took part in made them feel better. Whether they are trying to relieve stress, lose weight, or work on their heart health, if one of my workouts made their day that much better, then I’m happy. I hope they are too. It is not about the money. It is about the love I have for it.

The same applies to whatever you want to do. What are you passionate about? What inspires you? How can you help make help make a persons day happier? The attitude of people is not going to change over night, but one random act of kindness or encouragement once a day will definitely help. We can strive to be healthy, happy, and fit people. We just have to try.
